Improve every part of your performance

ENDURANCE, POWER, SPEED, RECOVERY, FOCUS

Yoga: Athletic Performance and Sports Recovery

Athletes and sports professionals make it evident that yoga enhances performance and assists in recovery. Improved mobility equates to improved quality of life and better movement relates to better health, it is that simple. Yoga massages both the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, aids in digestion and brings about a level of energy that no food can rival.

Practicing yoga consistently will help your overall fitness by:

  • Increasing your power. An aligned body will run with greater efficiency of body mechanics.

  • Improving balance and proprioception by strengthening vital core and stabilising muscles. A greater awareness of the body will lead to better motor skills.

  • Reducing risk of injury. Pliable muscles will have less stress placed upon them during forces of load and movement.

  • Improving circulation and endurance. Breathing techniques in yoga strengthen the central nervous system to be both alert or relaxed and increases respiratory capacity.

  • Mental acuity and improved focus are benefits from practicing yoga where the student will learn to deal with the mind especially under stress and fatigue.

Below is a series of yoga asanas (postures) that will benefit any training regime.  There are variations and options for each pose and props (blocks, straps and bolsters) are suggested, but not necessary.

Please consult with your local GP, Sports Physio/Chiro and or Osteopath for clearance on performing theses postures prior to starting.

This book is an eight-step guide to becoming a fearless yogi. In this e-book, you will explore the phenomenon of yoga through my lens guiding you to recognise your ultimate truth.

By accepting our imperfections and relinquishing experiences and past accolades that are well past their use by date, we create an increased sense of awareness and metaphysical consciousness of oneself. This continuing discovery could then possibly shed our spiritual ignorance which will bring a clearer understanding about the true self.

We are all The Divine. Acknowledging we are all connected to the universe including those we meet in the slightest of interactions will hopefully bring you to a better understanding of each other and ultimately our own purpose.

What we deem as insignificant may be a blessing and significant to our personal growth and realization. Nothing happens by accident. Everything is connected.
